I like the angle you've got going on here and the expression really works with it. The deep blacks in the drilled irises serve as a powerful subject point. I think it really captures the grim determinism of the memorial that you spoke about.
My only crit is that the brow looks a little blown out. It's not a deal breaker or anything, just something I noticed. Also, closing in the frame a little more on the face wouldn't hurt.
Overall though, I really like it.
